1 Samuel 9:21

²¹And Saul answered and said, Am not I a Benjamite, of the smallest of the tribes of Israel? and my family the least of all the families of the tribe of Benjamin? wherefore then speakest thou to me after this manner?

1 Samuel 9 introduces Saul, a physically impressive young man from the tribe of Benjamin, who is searching for his father's lost donkeys. Unbeknownst to him, this seemingly mundane task is divinely orchestrated to lead him directly to Samuel, the prophet. God has already revealed to Samuel His intention to appoint a king, and Saul's arrival marks the fulfillment of this prophecy. The chapter highlights God's sovereignty in raising up leaders, even through unexpected circumstances, setting the stage for Israel's first monarch.
