Genesis 22 recounts one of the most intense and pivotal narratives in the Old Testament: God's command to Abraham to sacrifice his son Isaac. This chapter tests Abraham's faith to its absolute limit, revealing the depth of his trust in God's promises even when they seemed contradictory. The tension builds as Abraham obeys, only for God to intervene at the last moment, providing a ram as a substitute. This event, often called “The Binding of Isaac” (the Akedah), profoundly foreshadows Christ's ultimate sacrifice and solidifies God's covenant with Abraham.
