Genesis 9:17

¹⁷ויאמר אלהים אל נח זאת אות הברית אשר הקמתי ביני ובין כל בשר אשר על הארץ:

Genesis 9 marks a new beginning for humanity after the Great Flood, establishing a renewed covenant between God and Noah and his descendants. God blesses Noah and his sons, reiterating the command to multiply and fill the earth, and grants permission to eat meat. The chapter introduces the rainbow as a sign of God's promise never to destroy the earth by flood again. However, the narrative quickly turns to human sinfulness with Noah's drunkenness and Ham's disrespectful act, leading to a curse and a blessing that foreshadow future ethnic and national dynamics.
