Exodus 17:3-4

³ויצמא שם העם למים וילן העם על משה ויאמר למה זה העליתנו ממצרים להמית אתי ואת בני ואת מקני בצמא:

⁴ויצעק משה אל יהוה לאמר מה אעשה לעם הזה עוד מעט וסקלני:

In Exodus 17, the Israelites face two significant challenges in the wilderness: a severe lack of water at Rephidim and an attack by the Amalekites. God miraculously provides water from a rock through Moses' staff, demonstrating His faithfulness despite the people's grumbling. Immediately after, Israel engages in their first major battle, where God grants victory through Moses' uplifted hands, supported by Aaron and Hur. This chapter highlights God's provision and protection, while also revealing the persistent unbelief of His people and the enduring enmity of Amalek.
